Designer Momoka Sato was inspired by the Sveta Gora monastery in Nova Gorica which stands on the top of a holy mountain once famous as a pilgrimage destination and battlefield. In addition to that, she interpreted the monastery as a witness to the various changes in the city over a period of time. In Japan, there is a creature called tengu(天狗) who is a god of the mountains. Tengu are beings who watch over people from heaven to make sure things go well. This is why Momoka designed this monastic robe as a kind of tengu that watches over the future of Nova Gorica, referencing mountain animals and using original lace.
